A Night With Neil Diamond at Alexa Park LV
ROB GARRETT’S “KING OF DIAMONDS” Vegas residency show CONTINUES ON in the “Alexis Park Modern Showrooms” at Alexis Park Resort Hotel.
Neil Diamond is one of the most successful and beloved singer/songwriters in pop/rock music history.
Besides being one Neil Diamond tribute Las Vegas venue of the best-selling and most successful live artists ever, he’s also created and performed the music that defined generations — including some of the most unforgettable songs on the planet.
In the beginning of 2018, shortly before his 77th birthday, Neil Diamond announced his retirement from performing after being affected by Parkinson’s.
However, Diamond’s on-stage legacy continues to be celebrated for audiences throughout the world through tribute artist Rob Garrett, often called “the best of the best”.
Ask Alexa “who is America’s number one Neil Diamond tribute artist,” and you’ll get the same answer.
Like his legendary counterpart, Rob Garrett was born in Brooklyn, NY.
In May 1974, his parents relocated from New York City to the Las Vegas Valley, where, in 1976, he witnessed his first Neil Diamond concert when Diamond debuted in Las Vegas to record crowds at the Aladdin Hotel’s “Theater for the Performing Arts” in July 1976.
Garrett went on to see him 16 more times across the country—right up until Diamond’s final U.S. concert at the Los Angeles Forum on August 12, 2017.
In 1980, Garrett formed his own band, “Rock n Roll Heaven,” and enjoyed a long and successful run in Las Vegas and across the nation before transitioning from cover band frontman to a full-time tribute performer dedicated to one of his boyhood inspirations.
In 1995, Garrett was personally hired by the legendary Paul Revere to portray Neil Diamond in the world-famous “Legends in Concert” review.
What was meant to be a limited run turned into a long-term hit show.
By August 1998, Garrett returned home to Las Vegas and continued to perform with “Legends” for another couple of years before deciding to create his own tribute production.
He began a steady touring schedule, building a strong worldwide fan community along the way—earning the title “King of Diamonds Neil Diamond Tribute.”
He continues to draw packed houses nationwide, often in venues that typically host major artists.
Garrett has also received multiple accolades, including “Male Tribute Artist of the Year.”
“Since he (Diamond) announced his retirement, I’ve felt a strong sense of responsibility to keep his legacy alive for future generations. It’s something I never get tired of doing,” he said.
On May 19, Las Vegas Mayor Carolyn Goodman officially proclaimed the date “Rob Garrett Day,” commemorating his 50 years living in Las Vegas and 44 years as a professional Vegas performer.
Now in this year, Garrett celebrates 45 years as an active Las Vegas entertainer, with the last three decades devoted solely to paying tribute to the now-retired Neil Diamond.
It has been said that no other tribute artist is so closely identified with the original performer as Garrett, who has performed his show at more Las Vegas venues than any other tribute artist.
Since the June closing of “A Beautiful Noise” (the Broadway jukebox musical based on Diamond’s life story), Rob Garrett’s “King of Diamonds” show has become the nation’s sole ongoing Neil Diamond tribute show.
Alexis Park Hotel Las Vegas is located at 375 E. Harmon Ave., just ¼ mile west of Paradise Rd..
